Alexandra MacLeish developed a passion for experiential education during her college years at Duke University. As a former athlete, Alex was eager to find another venue for the non-traditional learning that came from being part of a team. In 2010, she began volunteering for The Grassroot Project (TGP), an organization run by student-athletes that uses the power of play to educate at-risk youth in Washington, DC about HIV/AIDS. TGP’s model struck a chord and inspired Alex to start her own organization in the Duke and Durham communities. Alex came to JUMP! as part of the Princeton in Asia fellowship in 2012 and loves that she’s able to bring experiential learning to young people all around the world.
