Emily He – Facilitator

Unwilling to settle anywhere since leaving her hometown of Brookline, Massachusetts, Emily He can (or cannot) be found in a rural village in Beijing, on the mountains of Turkey, in a desert of Morocco, on the beaches of Malaysia, and on the train whipping through Sri Lanka. When she is not eating and fleeting her way through the world, Emily is co-running JUMP’s Chinese development project and educational NGO called Project Gegejiejie, a volunteer mentorship program for Beijing’s children of migrant workers. In 2011, she graduated from NYU with an individualized degree in Community Education and Empowerment, and went on to grad school at Tsinghua University in Beijing for an MPA in International Development. Next year, Emily plans on taking a year off to travel and volunteer through Southeast Asia!
