John is an educator committed to bringing meaningful learning experiences to students. He spent his childhood exploring the forests near Seattle in the Pacific Northwest, where his curiosity grew into a fascination with the way the natural world works. As a junior high science teacher he supported students as they learned to use models to understand the world around them and he worked with teachers to develop and implement equitable and ambitious curriculum and instructional practices. While not teaching, you will most likely find John if you catch him on a run, stumble upon him reading in a cafe, or meet up with him after a backpacking trip. He is currently sharing his love of nature and learning with students as he joins them on journeys of outdoor adventure, team building, and personal growth.
