Marcus Leslie – Interim International Partnership Manager

Having spent a great deal of his youth on a trampoline (he represented New Zealand for several years), some may say JUMPing is in Marcus Leslie’s blood.  Coming from a family of teachers, Marcus also credits the opportunities and challenges of competitive sport for sparking his passion for learning and development.  After ‘retiring’ from competition at 22, Marcus spent a couple of years experiencing life in the United Kingdom and travelling Europe before heading back to New Zealand to continue his formal education – first completing a Bachelor of Language and Culture, before adding a Post-Graduate Diploma in Teaching to his resume.   Since then, Marcus has lived in a few different countries and worked in many different roles underpinned by the common thread of education and development.  From teaching children at primary school; international students at university; and gymnastics coaches and teachers across Australia and New Zealand, Marcus really enjoys being involved in the process of helping people realize their potential.  Most recently, Marcus worked for Gymnastics Australia and was responsible for the development and implementation of LaunchPad, a fundamental movement initiative aimed at improving the physical literacy of children across Australia.  Over the years and alongside his full-time roles, Marcus has also worked as a sports coach and group fitness instructor.   Marcus enjoys keeping fit and active and also loves to travel – the more places he goes, the more places he wants to go.  He’s excited to be joining the JUMP! community and may even teach them a few tricks if he can get his hands on a trampoline…
